Kandy » President
Home Rental Services opened for business in 1985 as a division of Coldwell Banker. Originally, the company was called Coldwell Banker Home Rental Services. Kandy managed all aspects of the original opening of the business and then handled all daily operations. She then purchased the company in 1989 and rebranded as Home Rental Services.
Starting in 1985 with just a desk and a telephone, the company has grown to 10 employees managing several hundred properties.
MS and BS with honors in Education from Kansas State University. Additional post graduate work in Chemistry at the University of New York at Buffalo (UB). Woman Who Mean Business award recipient, 25 Under 25 Award recipient. Past President of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). Served on the Long Range Planning Committee for two years for NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers). Served as Chairperson of the National Affiliate Committee for NARPM for two years.
Caitlin » Director of Client Care
Caitlin joined the HRS team in May of 2010. She graduated from Kansas State University with a BS degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Management. Her daily activities include everything from processing internet inquiries to processing payments from tenants and owners. She also puts together all lease offers, prepares new tenant files for move in, processes rent payments, and prepares new listings for the website.
Paul » Director of Investor Services
Paul has been a part of the HRS team since January of 2010. He began his career here as a Property Manager and now serves as the Director of Investor Services. Paul graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a BA in Organizational Leadership.
Paul has been a licensed realtor since 2006. He has worked for residential and commercial loan servicers, facilitated short sale and foreclosure transactions for various financial institutions and has acted as an agent in the purchase and sale of real estate.
When Paul is not researching the market to help our investors acquire quality properties, he can be found spending time with his wife Amy and their three children.
Carrie » Director of Accounting Services
Carrie joined the HRS team in June of 2013. Carrie attended the University of Virginia majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Accounting. Carrie oversees A/R, A/P, reviews financial statements and ensures that all the accounting/financial parts of our services are running as they should be. Carrie is a nationally recognized 3Day Eventer (an equine triathlon) and has competed internationally.
Oretta » Property Manager
Oretta is our lead property manager and has been with us since early 2017. She works with owners and renters for all aspects of the properties we manage. She does everything from making sure renters are taken care of, to paying owners. She came to us from the ophthalmology/insurance field and quickly found her home with HRS.
Chris » Client Services Agent
Chris has been with Home Rental Services since 2010 and loves to connect owners and renters with the right home, at the right place and at the right time. After spending 10 years in the helping profession, Chris made the transition in the marketplace by serving others in a new role – helping others find a home – and enjoys very much what he is doing.
MBA from University of Phoenix, MSW from Adelphi University, BS in Social Welfare from State University of New York at Albany
He enjoys spending time with good friends and two Chinese Crested dogs.
Amy » Property Manager & Renewal Coordinator
Amy has been with Home Rental Services since November of 2001. She has held many different positions during that time and is a licensed Realtor in both KS and MO. Amy currently works on the property management team assisting with property maintenance and owner/renter/and vendor relations. She also manages all lease extensions and expirations. As part of lease extensions, she negotiates new lease terms as well as visits the homes, or she receives notices to vacate at the lease expiration and starts the process to get those houses back on the market between renters to minimize vacancy.
Amy has three children, volunteers a lot of time with her church youth group and is very involved with her boys’ elementary school.
